Talent Show 2020

6:30pm on Friday, February 21st at Dunstan Middle School

The show is free, open to the public and made possible by the Devinny PTA!

This is our annual event showcasing K–6th graders who have earned their opportunity to perform by successfully completing a competitive audition process.

Details

Song, dance, instrumental music, comedy skits and variety acts are all welcome! Past shows have also included unique things like fancy jump roping, martial art routines, upside down piano playing and synchronized swimming.

Auditions

Devinny students of all grades are encouraged to sign up for an audition time after school in the music room. Audition times will be in five minute increments scheduled via Sign Up Genius for each date. Auditions are being held on the following dates:

Tuesday, January 28th - Thursday, January 30th

3:40PM - 5:25PM

Auditions must be "performance ready" and no longer than 2 minutes and 35 seconds.

Audition tips:

            1. Smile and look at your audience (friendly judges) with enthusiasm!
            2. Have all lyrics or lines to a skit memorized.
            3. Wear your performance outfit to the audition.
            4. Practice, practice, practice!

Audition slots are also available for a child to try out for being this year's Emcee (show host). More details are included in the audition download on the 'Forms' page.

Once auditions are held, the kids that are chosen to move forward are REQUIRED to attend ALL of the following events at DUNSTAN MIDDLE SCHOOL:

Tech Rehearsal after school Wednesday, February 19th, 3:45-6:00

Dress Rehearsal after school Thursday, February 20th, 3:45-6:00

Performance Date Friday, February 21st, 6:30pm (6:00 call, 6:30 PM show starts)

Volunteer Support Needed

Many opportunities are available at both the audition (hallway monitors) and the performance to make this a great experience for our talented performers. Activities that need volunteer help include:

  • Curtain
  • Lights
  • Sound board
  • Props set up
  • Backstage
  • Stage manager
